Parenting Classes

This class will prepare you for the birth of your child, including the stages of labor and birth, coping strategies, relaxation and breathing techniques, medication options and the adjustment to postpartum. Registration is required. Fee: $80 per couple.

The class will be held in Hospital Conference Room #2, located on the ground floor, past security.

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center and Montclair Film partner to educate and promote breastfeeding during World Breastfeed Month with a FREE screening of Milk followed by a panel discussion with professionals from Mountainside Medical Center. The professional panel will consist of OB/GYN specialist from Mountainside Medical Group, Vanessa Parisi, D.O and Laurie Barbalinardo, R.N Certified Lactation Consultant.

This class will prepare you for the realities of becoming a parent, with special emphasis on coping during the first three months of your baby's life. Fee: $50 per couple.

Although breastfeeding is a natural process, it is not instinctive.  This class will provide the information and support needed for a positive nursing experience.  The program is taught by the lactation consultants who work at Mountainside Medical Center.

When that special moment finally arrives, you will feel comfortable knowing your baby will be born in a hospital whose primary concern is your health, comfort and safety. All your questions and concerns will be answered during this tour by our Nurse Manager of OB Services.

This tour will begin in the hospital Auditorium on the ground floor and will continue to to the Mother-Baby and Nursery Units.

All your questions and concerns will be answered during this tour by our Nurse Manager of OB Services.
