Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center Recognizes Patient Experience Week

Mountainside Medical Center team members celebrate Patient Experience Week

Mountainside Medical Center recognizes and encourages global efforts to improve the healthcare experience for patients, their families and caregivers. The hospital is celebrating Patient Experience (PX) Week April 26 – April 30, 2021.

PX Week is brought to the healthcare community by The Beryl Institute, an organization dedicated to improving the patient experience through collaboration and shared knowledge.

PX Week provides a focused time for organizations to celebrate accomplishments, reenergize efforts and honor the people who impact the patient experience every day. From nurses and physicians to support staff and executive professionals, as well as patients, families and communities served, the Institute hopes to bring together healthcare organizations across the globe to observe PX Week.

“Patients and their loved ones have trusted us to take excellent care of them, and we strive to earn that trust every day,” said Janna Hembrough, director of patient experience at Mountainside Medical Center. “Every role at the hospital has a huge impact on the patient experience.”

The Beryl Institute defines the patient experience as "the sum of all interactions, shaped by an organization's culture, that influence patient perceptions across the continuum of care."

“Improving the patient experience is not just an activity we acknowledge for a single week. It is a year-round effort,’ says Tim O’Brien, chief executive officer at Mountainside Medical Center. “At Mountainside, our commitment to patient-centered care by having compassion and empathy for our patients and their loved ones is a top priority.”
