Visitor's Pass

All visitors must enter at the Main Entrance on Bay Avenue and obtain an appropriate Visitor’s Pass.

After Hours Visiting

Under certain conditions, after hours visiting (later than 8:00 p.m.) may be permitted.  After 8:00 p.m., authorized visitors can enter Mountainside Medical Center only at the First Floor Emergency Department entrance. As directed by signage, after hours visitors must use the Red Security Phone in the corridor to communicate with the Security Desk. Visitors with authorization will receive clearance and be granted access to designated areas.

Children are Welcome with Some Exceptions

Children of any age are permitted to visit hospital patients when accompanied by an adult, except in critical care units (CICU, MICU and SICU) where the minimum age is 12 and in Behavioral Health Services where visitors must be at least 18.

Patients Can Restrict Visitors

Patients can choose who is allowed to visit during their hospital stay.  To do so, a patient must opt-out of inclusion in the hospital’s Facility Directory and complete an Approved Visitors List.

These lists are given to the Information and Security Desks.  When a visitor whose name appears on an approved list arrives, a staff member or volunteer will require photo identification and call the patient’s extension to verify the visitor’s status.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please call 973-429-6600 if further information is needed.
