Also, each mother is permitted to choose one (1) adult who can stay overnight. A wristband will be placed on the designated guest and only “banded” guests will be permitted to remain in the hospital overnight. (Please note: This option may not be available on rare occasions due to a very high census.)
CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit), MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) & SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
Visiting is permitted 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week.

All visitors must enter at the Main Entrance on Bay Avenue and obtain an appropriate Visitor’s Pass.
Under certain conditions, after hours visiting (later than 8:00 p.m.) may be permitted. After 8:00 p.m., authorized visitors can enter Mountainside Medical Center only at the First Floor Emergency Department entrance. As directed by signage, after hours visitors must use the Red Security Phone in the corridor to communicate with the Security Desk. Visitors with authorization will receive clearance and be granted access to designated areas.
Children of any age are permitted to visit hospital patients when accompanied by an adult, except in critical care units (CICU, MICU and SICU) where the minimum age is 12 and in Behavioral Health Services where visitors must be at least 18.
Patients can choose who is allowed to visit during their hospital stay. To do so, a patient must opt-out of inclusion in the hospital’s Facility Directory and complete an Approved Visitors List.
These lists are given to the Information and Security Desks. When a visitor whose name appears on an approved list arrives, a staff member or volunteer will require photo identification and call the patient’s extension to verify the visitor’s status.
