Mountainside Medical Center has been a distinguished community healthcare provider since 1891. Today, its Adult Health Center is continuing that tradition by providing convenient local access to the finest quality, comprehensive primary care, preventive care and wellness programs.
Access to a knowledgeable, caring doctor on a regular basis is one of the keys to better health, quality of life and longevity. That’s why we're educating our patients to help them lead healthier lives and partnering with them to control chronic diseases, promptly address acute issues and ensure access to preventive services including vaccinations and cancer screenings. Our goal is to help our patients live long, healthy and productive lives and avoid preventable conditions such as stroke, diabetes and heart attacks.
The Mountainside Adult Health Center addresses the basic needs of its patients and makes it easier for them to navigate the increasingly complex healthcare system to get coordinated specialty care whenever needed.
We are a teaching practice under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Knight, a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, who supervises a team of residents (physicians in late-stage training). Other distinguished board-certified faculty also provides supervision including Dr. Bijal Mehta, Director of the Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Internal Medicine Residency Program and Dr. Douglas Zaeh, Associate Program Director.
The Adult Health Center is a state-of-the-art medical practice that provides safe, effective, high quality care in alignment with community needs. We have the capacity to accommodate same-day and urgent appointments.
You will be aligned with one of our compassionate resident physicians who will become your personal healthcare provider because quality is enhanced when a doctor knows and serves a patient (or an entire family) over time. Your doctor will be part of a team of physicians who work closely together, so on occasion a colleague may step in to care for you if your doctor isn’t available.
If specialty care that’s not available at our center is necessary, we’ll refer you to an appropriate specialist. However, your primary care doctor at the center will remain in contact with you, your family and the specialist and continue to care for you after the specialist is no longer required.
We can also swiftly arrange for tests, specialized outpatient services or inpatient care at Mountainside Medical Center whenever needed.
Plus, for the convenience of our patients:
Through our affiliation with Mountainside Medical Center, specialists in these fields and more are available with our referral:
The Adult Health Center is equipped to respond quickly to patient inquiries and care needs using its secure, state-of-the-art electronic records system. We’ll do everything in our power to respond to your emergency needs. After business hours, our office voice mail will direct you to the on-call physician who will advise you how to proceed. If you are experiencing a heart attack, stroke or other medical emergency, please dial 911 and go directly to the Mountainside Medical Center Emergency Department.
All requests for prescription refills and/or referrals should be made during regularly scheduled office hours. Please contact our office at least one week before your prescription runs out and a refill is needed.
