We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide emergency psychiatric services.

We help children as young as kindergarten age, adolescents, adults and senior citizens of all genders and all ethnicities. Our diverse patient population includes executives, professionals and other high-functioning individuals with mental health concerns, as well as patients who are unable to function due to mental illnesses.

In a crisis, we're the call you need to make.
Our team of counselors provides an around the clock, 24-hour behavioral health safety net. We'll quickly evaluate a patient, determine the level of care required and provide the appropriate care or referrals. Our Counselors are also available to answer any questions at 973-429-6963. In a crisis, don’t hesitate to go directly to the Mountainside Medical Center Emergency Department for urgent behavioral health assistance.
Inpatient
Inpatient: Intensive therapy when it's needed most

We operate a 30-bed acute inpatient adult unit with 26 voluntary beds and four involuntary beds.

Our psychiatrists are specially trained in geriatric psychiatry and addictions.

Our inpatient team includes specially trained and caring nurses, social workers, activity therapists and healthcare technicians.
Partial Hospitalization
Partial Hospitalization: The comfort of home with intensive therapy

Acute Partial Hospitalization is available for adults Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

We offer limited free transportation. Medicaid, Medicare and most insurance plans are accepted.
Intensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient: An option for some patients

Intensive Outpatient services are provided as step-down treatment for patients who don’t qualify for partial hospitalization but require more services than those available in a standard outpatient program.

This program usually operates three mornings per week with group and individual therapy, as well as medication intervention.

These services are available Monday through Friday.

Our Outpatient Programs provide individual and group therapy for children age five and above, adolescents, adults and seniors.
