Mountainside Medical Center has made significant investments in the latest technology and equipment to ensure that our surgical team and our patients have access to the best resources. Our Surgical Services Unit includes a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Unit that provides pre-surgery nursing support and answers to patient questions; Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Protocols for Total Joint Replacements and Colorectal Surgery, nine operating room suites and four endoscopy suites equipped, a high-tech navigation system for MRI-guided surgery and high-definition video monitors; two large same-day nursing units; a fully equipped post-anesthesia care unit (PACU); and spacious, comfortable family waiting rooms.
Our surgical team includes dedicated, specially trained nurses, the majority of whom are certified in their respective surgical specialties, as well as certified surgical technicians, physician assistants and surgical assistants who all play an important role in patient care.
All of our patients are educated about their surgery, admitted and discharged by a registered nurse and we believe that one-on-one nurse support makes a difference, affording our patients greater peace of mind and contributing to their successful outcomes.
