Diagnostic testing and evaluation for complex, advanced heart conditions can be completed close to home at Mountainside Medical Center. Our Structural Heart Program’s world-class cardiac subspecialists collaborate with patients and their referring physicians to pinpoint diagnoses, develop treatment plans and ensure seamless access to informed and effective cardiovascular care.

After an initial evaluation, the Structural Heart Center will recommend specific diagnostic tests to be ordered by the referring physician. All hospital-based testing and related services can be completed in two visits and may include:

  • If advanced care (TAVR, Left Atrial Occlusion, Mitral Clip, AFib ablation, etc.) is needed, patients can have a full work-up and be seamlessly transferred to the Heart and Vascular Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center, ranked among the “Top 50 Heart Hospitals” in the country by U.S. News and World Report and the highest ranked hospital in New Jersey for cardiology & heart surgery.
  • At Hackensack University Medical Center’s Heart and Vascular Hospital, patients will have access to groundbreaking treatment options such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), a minimally invasive heart valve replacement procedure for select patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve opening) who are not candidates for traditional open chest surgery or are high-risk operable candidates.
  • Patients are ensured continuity of care because the same specialists involved in case review and planning at Mountainside Medical Center care for them at the Heart and Vascular Hospital.
