A full-term, uneventful birth is what everybody hopes for. However, babies sometimes need help in their first crucial moments to get off to a strong start. Our neonatologists – pediatricians with years of special training in the care of premature and fragile newborns – are on-site 24 hours a day for your peace of mind.
The first five minutes after birth are crucial. Therefore, while many hospitals offer neonatologists who are on call and further out of reach, at Mountainside Medical Center we ensure that expert assistance is on-site, at the ready.
Our neonatologists provide well care, too. The mission of our Neonatology Department is to provide superior care to infants in the well newborn nursery and specialized care for ill or premature infants in our state-of-the-art special care nursery. We also support families in making a smooth transition from birth to home. At Mountainside Medical Center, we provide:
